Building 189
UMAC acknowledges the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung peoples of the Kulin Nation as the Traditional Owners of the unceded land on which we work. We pay respect to their Elders past and present, and their enduring traditions of knowledge sharing, performing and storytelling on this land.
Building 189
Building 189 has been restored to its iconic Art Deco form, opening out to landscaped areas and seamlessly connecting to the brand-new Amphitheatre.
Market Hall
Market Hall is a large, light-filled and flexible event space within Building 189 hosting up to 150 guests.
The Gallery
The Gallery is a mezzanine space overlooking Market Hall. Providing a top-down view of the space, the Gallery offers additional seating and hang-out areas for up to 50 people.
Activity Rooms
Building 189 has four large activity rooms available for students to host study groups, rehearsals, meetings and events:
Room G01: 16 desks, 32 chairs, wooden floor. Bluetooth audio and AV wall screen.
Room G02: 16 tables, 32 chairs, wooden floor. Bluetooth audio and mobile AV screen.
Room 101: 8 tables, 16 chairs, carpeted floor.
Room 102: 8 tables, 16 chairs, carpeted floor, one upright piano.
Rooms have capacity for up to 50 people and are available to book by registered student clubs and associations.
